hello again! as per the title, i'll go into the switch i've made to investing into physical media, and other fun stuff.

last weekend was eventful! now that i've acquired the means, i finally got to modding my 3ds! for now the games i've downloaded are the first kanken for learning kanji (my mental library is basically non-existent at this point), bravely default which i had to suffer the intro in english before i could switch to og voices, and dream drop distance (i actually like the kh dub, it's fitting and iconic)! i'm so excited to be able to play kingdom hearts on a handheld console!! as a wild card and a friend of trains i even got japanese rail sim 3d! i was extremely pleased to find the rosalina menu had screen tone options, i like using warm screen filters on every device 24/7.

the next task on the list was to burn my very own cd playlists! of course i had to have nujabes' discography, because it's been with me since i lived back at home as a teenager, his albums have shaped my taste in music a lot. the feeling of playing cds of your favorite artists is indescribable, it's like performing a little ritual. i was so happy i thought i was going to jump through the roof. it's been a fun sport to find random cds at thrift stores, so far i've managed to find really delightful albums and songs, especially this one bossa nova cd with various artist, the cover is a really charming illustration. i also thrifted a bunch of ghibli movies (i aimed mainly to have when marnie was there and arrietty because they're my favorite, especially marnie), and expanded upon my media shelf!

pretty cd i found and my shelf it sits on

before all this i turned my phone grayscale, got a digital light alarm clock so now i have my alarms and reading light compactly in one device! it's so cute, it plays seagulls and waves to me in the mornings, me and my mom love seagull cries. due to this my screen time dropped to around 24 minutes per day. now how impressive this is in endgame when i mainly still work and play on computers is debatable, lol. but i just can't stand touch screens, they piss me off, there's no satisfaction in using them, i want buttons!! also in my humble opinion stores should stop making 437894 apps for coupon codes and sales, i don't want to start fiddling with my phone at checkouts, i want to buy my groceries and be done with it.

i still have no solution for a music player because my old mp3 player's battery is dead, so i just listen to songs offline from my phone when i go out. i'm heavily considering an e-reader too, books are so expensive even used... i'm very dangerously starting to sound like going offline is another excuse to spend more money on various trinkets, but you can do all this with what you already own. that's the key, reusing and locating second-hand. i've just always been a fan of electronics and the forms they take for highly specific uses because of my tendency to modify and streamline my tools (and prepare for absurd, impropable situations). i swear if you knew me irl you'd know how much i pinch my pennies, i have a reputation...

and speaking of books, i went to the book club meeting, and it was so pleasant! i was welcomed so warmly, and the talk was fun and light-hearted. one older gentleman knew a lot about world history and couldn't stand the internet, it was funny lol. he was a good sport and talked very kindly to me. i'm really glad i went! after proving to myself i can indeed finish books (who could've thought, my record with this is precarious), my reading confidence skyrocketed and already read 1/3 of the next book in less than one day. the mc in this work has to be the most unlikeable narrator i've ever had the displeasure of experiencing, but the text itself is entertaining and easy to read. i'll continue it after posting this, haha.

outfit and jewelry i've started wearing recently! i was out cycling on the little river picture

one of my little personal projects is a chess game for practice. i finally modeled the pawn, rigged and animated an idle animation! there's a godot video tutorial for 2d chess, but i'll try to adapt it into 3d logic. it'll have to wait a few days cause i caught the flu and work is all i can manage through my sneezes for now, i have no voice to speak of lmao. i put together some dubious self-made vicks vaporub cause it was so expensive at the drugstore... i'm lathered in eucamenthol. don't follow after my example.

i have rest of the designs drawn and ready to be modeled~
