april sure was something... especially as a lurker comfydant of almost three years now, i can't say i wasn't sad at the news at fuuchan's graduation, but i was equal parts proud and excited for his future endeavors. i'm really glad noctyx got to spend time together offline before everything, it was really heartwarming (and i hope they get to do it again). i actually got the idea to make my first proper oc during watching one of fuu's playthroughs, and i'll always be glad it bloomed into something more, as i keep working on it. i'm just happy to see so many people openly talk about how he's appreciated, you never really know in what way someone might be inspired by you.

to not make this post entirely somber, i'll update a little on my rpg maker progress. the trial version ended, and by some good luck i got it half off from steam. i tried making the first rendition of the walking sprite animation for saima (and by animation i mean she's bouncing up and down while moving), and i had to keep resizing and drawing details back in because i didn't realize how small the sprite would actually be. oops. i kind of like how wobbly and scribbly she looks, the wobbliness was definitely something i wanted to make more apparent but the size doesn't show it too much... i went through every frame with liquify -> crystals to make the lines appear sketchy (i use procreate). i'm going to make venni into the second playable character, but his sprites can wait until i make my mind on how they should look!

that's a BIG insect alright, she doesn't even fit the game! (pre-shrinking)

in media news: bllk chapter 300 is the best chapter ever. and the exhibition voice guide oh my GOD... nagireo forever... i just don't want another year long dry season right after this please... (narejoshis hmu) new gundam is beautiful looking and sounding, and while wind breaker isn't anything mind-blowing, it's still full of cute characters and fun fight scenes, and has zakki and uchida yuma voicing in too so... i haven't watched the mono anime yet, but as a fan of yuru camp (one of the few series i've actually rewatched several times) and other similar series like yama no susume i absolutely will in time and then get familiar with the manga, it looks so freaking awesome.

i keep thinking it would be fun to have a more direct chance to talk to the people who read these, but for now i think the guestbook is doing a good job at that. if you have any media recommendations, please do share! some of the stuff i've written down for myself to check out is: sweet valerian, the marshmallow times, kita e and dennou coil. (i kept writing this post for over a week but only to got to finishing it now lol) happy weekend everyone~

i used this gif as a base for the first walking sprite hah, now back to drawing ref sheets for my ocs
