spent a nice quiet birthday a few days ago with my bestie, she brought me a watermelon (and peanut butter because i'm obsessed)! midsummer's eve came before that, didn't celebrate it any way this year either, no campfire nothing. maybe i'll manage to celebrate something this summer. the best celebration right now is that tamagotchi uni has preorders open, the trailer looked incredible!! i'm torn between the two designs, i really like the purple one but i feel like it's the more sought after one of the two... i have to sleep on it and decide. i'm thinking about creating a live2d model for fun, drafted a similar design i did back in 2020 but posted it nowhere. maybe i'll actually hide it in a post here when it's finalized better haha. the updated one looks almost identical to the old with only colors tweaked from yellow to cyan. not gonna become a streamer or anything, just want to test out how to create a model and test run it a few times (i actually have a capture card for my switch though...).
summer has overall been quiet besides a lan event and meeting some official people, rest of it being drawing and watching kdramas and anime. i totally fell in love with "our blues", at the end of it climbing to the top of my favorites list. usually i'd aim for only crime dramas, but that one made me just want to watch more slice of life in the countryside with tight-knit communities... it was so heart-felt and well-rounded, tackling difficult issues with a sense of reality but never without warmth. i managed to peel myself off from dramas for a midnight bicycle ride since it's light outside 24/7 for june, days slowly becoming shorter again. found myself at some places i've never seen before... first picture below is from before my bday, the rest three from tonight!
